Hi, I’m Sherika Mickens

The founder of SLM Journal Boutique, a woman of faith, a mother, a leader, and someone who understands that healing requires honesty, courage, and commitment.

For years, I carried the weight of painful experiences while continuing to show up for everyone around me. On the outside, I appeared strong. Inside, I struggled with rejection, disappointment, insecurity, and questions about my identity. I knew God had more for me, but I also knew I could not move forward while continuing to avoid the places within me that needed healing.

My transformation began when I stopped pretending that I was fine and became honest with God and myself. Through prayer, biblical truth, and intentional journaling, I began confronting the thoughts, wounds, and patterns that had affected my confidence and shaped how I saw myself.

I learned that healing does not happen through avoidance. It begins when we are willing to face the truth, accept responsibility for our next steps, and allow God to renew our minds.
